U.K. newspaper The Sun reports that Mariah Carey and Miley Cyrus have signed on to the Simon Cowell-spearhaded all-star cover of R.E.M.’s Everybody Hurts that will be released to raise funds for Haiti relief. Susan Boyle, Leona Lewis, Rod Stewart, James Morrison, James Blunt and Mika are among those also reported to be participating.
Kings Of Leon have dismissed reports they’re lining up an odd collaboration with Leona Lewis.
Recent tabloid reports suggested the band had persuaded the Bleeding Love singer to join them in the studio – because they’re “huge fans”.
The story took off and became a big gossip item overnight, prompting Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill to log onto his Twitter.com to deny the claims.
Followill, who is enjoying a break after a long tour with the band, writes, “Contrary to reports out there Kings Of Leon are not writing or recording with Leona Lewis. No offense to her.”
Leona Lewis is preparing to add an edge to her clean-cut act – by recording new tracks with Kings Of Leon and Robbie Williams.
The Bleeding Love star is set to hit the studio with pop star Williams to record two new songs for an updated version of her second album, Echo.
The pair get on so well, Lewis’ mentor, Simon Cowell, is trying to persuade Williams to join the former The X Factor champion on her upcoming arena tour, according to the Daily Mirror newspaper.
And the Angels hitmaker isn’t the only act keen to work with Lewis – Sex on Fire rockers Kings of Leon are also eager to head into the studio with the star.
A source tells the publication, “Leona is incredibly proactive. She knows what she wants and where she’s heading and is thrilled with these developments. She loves Robbie and thinks he’s a real laugh – and the love-in is mutual. They’re just going to go in the studio and see what comes out.
“The track will coincide with her arena tour, with the possibility that Robbie could appear on stage. Simon is really keen on the idea and hopes it will help Robbie come on board with The X Factor. The Kings of Leon collaboration came about through Leona herself. Caleb (Followill, frontman) and the guys are huge fans.”
Leona Lewis is reportedly “fine” after receiving treatment from injuries sustained from a horseback riding accident in Los Angeles.
“She’s fine and will be back on her horse soon,” a source tells The Sun.
Lewis had been out riding the day before New Year’s Eve when the horse she was riding starting galloping too fast, causing Lewis to fall off.
“She went to accident and emergency,” a source confirms. “It was pretty scary. She had quite a tumble.”
While Lewis’ tumble was frightening, she has not “put off” riding and plans to return to the stable soon.
LEONA Lewis has made “quite an impression in Hollywood” and is being primed by Hollywood heavyweight James Cameron as a film star, according to reports.
The British singer recorded the theme song for Cameron’s current epic Avatar – and the director is keen to make Leona a big star in the movie business.
“James is well known for casting strong females in his films and he sees that quality in Leona,” revealed a Hollywood insider.
“She has made quite an impression in Hollywood and James is one of a number of people interested in developing her performance skills for film.”
Leona has previously revealed she’d love to work in the movie industry — but behind the scenes.
“I love movies but I’m more into scriptwriting and the actual story and behind the scenes,” she said.
“But I wouldn’t say no if it was the right thing.”
Hey Guys! Below is the official video of Leona Lewis’s theme song to the animated flick Avatar. Check it out below. I will also be posting photos of the premiere in a bit.

Leona Lewis is refusing to release one of her singles on the new blockbuster ‘Avatar’ to promote the film, angering director James Cameron.
Leona Lewis is refusing to release a single to promote the blockbuster ‘Avatar’.
The ‘Happy’ singer is too busy with promotional duties for her own album ‘Echo’ to want to spend time plugging ‘I See You’, which is used in the £300 million film.
Angry director James Cameron has now given the British star a sneak preview of the movie – the most expensive ever made – in an attempt to persuade her to release the song but she is still said to be unable to make up her mind.
A source said: “Leona was delighted to be part of ‘Avatar’ but the song was never supposed to be released. But her cover of ‘Run’ wasn’t meant to be released either – and look how well that did.”
James is said to be particularly disappointed as he believes the track could be as successful as Celine Dion’s 1997 hit ‘My Heart Will Go On’, the lead song on the soundtrack to his blockbuster ‘Titanic’.
‘I See You’ was even produced by James Horner and Simon Franglen, the same team behind Celine’s massive hit.
