Leona Lewis' new album is inspired by Coldplay. The 'Bleeding Love' singer is working on the long-awaited follow-up LP to her debut release 'Spirit' and has been listening to her favorite group to get ideas for a new rockier sound.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Leona was really happy with the success of her cover of Snow Patrol's 'Run', so she thought it logical to try her hand at a more rock-based sound.

"She's a huge Coldplay fan and their influence is strong on a number of demos." Leona - who shot to fame after winning UK TV talent show 'The X Factor' in 2006 - is expected to release her new album in November. The record is rumored to feature several star guests, including Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo and super-producer Timbaland.

Leona recently promised her fans will be surprised by the finished LP. The 24-year-old star also revealed she plans to undertake her first ever solo tour once the album is released. She confirmed: "I'll be touring in 2010 and through to the year after. I just can't wait."

The singer said: “After my family and Lou, I missed EastEnders the most while I was in LA.

“Lou kept flying back and forth and we have been together long enough to know that we are strong enough to get through that.

“You never know, an engagement could be on the horizon soon. We are very much in love.”

Captial Radio Summertime Ball Show x13

There is no doubt that Leona Lewis has become a much bigger star since she won talent show the X Factor.

But the fashion-forward singer's choice of outfit at the weekend certainly didn't help rumours of her weight gain.

Lewis cut a decidedly dumpy figure in the Ali Baba style jumpsuit she wore to perform at the Capital 95.8 Summertime Ball.

With its clingy fabric which billowed at the ankle and strapless bodice, the London-born singer displayed her curvaceous figure as she took to the stage in the black all-in-one.

It was a rare live appearance in the UK for Lewis, 24, who made the switch to the U.S. this year to record and promote an album.

She has been so busy with her career, that she has even had to turn down invitations from the President of the United States.

The X Factor 2006 winner was put on the guest list for a White House party but was unable to attend because of work commitments.

Her spokesman said at the time: 'She really wanted to meet him, but it unfortunately clashed with her schedule to get her second album done.

‘Leona has had studio sessions in LA booked for months and has been working day and night getting things perfectly.'

In addition to an anticipated follow up to the Grammy-nominated album "Spirit," Leona Lewis is amped up for what is being billed as a two year tour !

"I'll be touring in 2010 and through to the year after. I just can't wait," Lewis told Britain's Daily Star.

Currently wrapping production on the as-yet-untitled album, Lewis has reportedly worked with Ne-Yo, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, insisting that fans will be surprised by a new sound.

"The music has a different feel this time. It's more of a live, heavier sound with a lot of real instruments. It's something I'll be able to perform live."
